The Disconnection Project Story
The Full Story
What happens when we forget how to connect?
The COVID-19 pandemic reshaped more than just our routines. It changed how we relate to each other. In the quiet, in the distance, something deeper began to shift. Isolation became normal. Avoidance became safe. And even as the world reopened, many of us found it harder than ever to truly reach out again.
This project was born from that space.
The Disconnection Project is an ongoing collection of real stories from real people about what the pandemic did to our relationships, our social instincts, and our sense of closeness. It’s a time capsule and a mirror. A way to remember what we endured and explore how we come back to each other.
These stories may become part of a forthcoming project exploring how disconnection became our default, and how we can rewire ourselves toward community, friendship, and trust.
Do you have a story to tell?
I’m collecting written reflections and short videos from individuals willing to share their experience during the pandemic. Your story doesn’t have to be dramatic or polished. It just has to be real. Maybe it was a moment of unexpected grief. A ritual that helped you survive. A relationship that fractured. Or even a truth you learned about yourself. Whatever it was, if it stuck with you, I want to hear it.
How to Contribute
All submissions begin with an email. This allows us to protect your privacy and ensure proper documentation. If you’re open to sharing, contact us first so that we can get the conversation started.

After your email is received, you’ll receive a secure release form via DocuSign to confirm your consent. Submissions may be anonymous, first-name-only, or credited. It's entirely up to you.
Please Note:
Sharing your story does not create a therapeutic or
professional relationship with Dr. Tedder.
This project is for educational, reflective, and creative purposes only.
Why this matters
We’re still living in the aftermath of something the world doesn’t know how to talk about. The Disconnection Project is one attempt to start that conversation—gently, truthfully, and together.
Thank you for being part of it.
